During the Journées de la culture, works from the Loto-Québec Collection will be featured in the Voir bleu exhibition.
Blue is a color that has fascinated us for ages. It comes in a multitude of forms. The Voir bleu exhibition will take a look at some of the most significant works in the Loto-Québec Collection, highlighting this color.
Manon Pouliot, Cultural Projects and Partnerships Advisor at the Loto-Québec Collection, and curator of the Voir bleu exhibition, presents the works in the exhibition as follows:
“Each of them is an invitation to question the presence of the color blue in our lives. Today, from the color of our clothes to our computer screens and the logos of many companies, including Loto-Québec, blue is all around us.”
Through its works, the exhibition will weave links between the context of our lives and the use of blue by artists to illustrate their emotions and their surroundings. It will focus on five themes: abstract blue, as seen in the works of artists from the major artistic movements; nature blue, the blue of the outdoor environment; optical blue, the hue favoured by photographers; committed blue, used by various organizations; and finally, emerging blue, the blue to which young artists lend a voice.
