The Galerie Montcalm, located in the Maison du Citoyen of the City of Gatineau, is presenting the exhibition Voir bleu from January 29 to March 29, 2026, featuring works from the Loto-Québec Collection.
The exhibition offers a perspective on approximately thirty works from the Loto-Québec Collection, bringing together, among others, Jean-Paul Jérôme, Fernand Leduc, Denis Juneau, Guido Molinari, Serge Lemoyne, Françoise Sullivan, as well as local artists.
The project is directed by Josée Prud’homme (Head of Visual Arts and Heritage, City of Gatineau) and Eric Meunier (Director of Social Engagement, Loto-Québec).
Voir bleu, curated by Manon Pouliot, Manager of the Loto-Québec Collection, was created to highlight the corporation’s contribution to local art for more than 45 years.
Each work weaves connections between our living context and the use of blue by artists to express their emotions and the world around them.
The exhibition is structured around four major themes: abstract blue, found in the works of artists associated with major artistic movements; nature blue, reflecting the external environment; optical blue, a hue favoured by photographers; and engaged blue, a more polarized interpretation.
